Kick arse hip hop dancers, a jammin’ DJ, street food (in miniature formation), free flowing booze and denim as far as the eye can see all went down at Merry ol’ Melbourne’s emporium for the G-Star Raw launch last Friday night.
G-stars new concept store completely encapsulates the brands “luxury street wear” perfectly with its concrete jungle canvas and earthy/monochromatic apparel. Dedicated staff were well equipped with denim tool kits to fit the VIP’s into their perfect pair of G’s (wordplay) and were all super stoked about christening their new diggs. The star of the night though (apart from the sick street dancers) would have had to be the artful display of denim; presented in a way that can only be depicted as the evolution of man, was a stroke of vm (visual merchandising) genius and really brought the whole store to life.
A few glasses of white and a whole lotta’ mini burgers later, the night dwindled down and drew to a successful close. Real life boutiques are back in a big way peeps and its stores like this that are aiming to bring the “experience” back into retail.
Side Note: shout out to Tammy Croucher for allowing me to be a part of said event, many thanks x
